Truck driving restrictions

Basic information


The country has not imposed any restrictions in the international heavy traffic.

Detailed information


Traffic ban: on all roads where the permissible axle weight is limited to 6t (possibly 9t), for all vehicles exceeding this value.


Time: in spring months (March – April) due to thaw.


Routes: different parts of national roads, among others: M 8, M 10, M 11, M 12. with the exception of:

  • M-1/E-30: Brest (Kozlovichi) – Minsk – Redki (Russian border)
  • M-2: Minsk – Minsk Airport
  • M-6/E-28: Minsk – Grodno – Bruzgi (Polish border), km 10,6 – km 57
  • M-7/E-28: Minsk – Oszmiana – Kamienny Log (Lithuanian border)
  • M-8/E-95: Ezerische (Russian border) – Witebsk – Homel –Novaja Gouta (Ukrainian border) access roads to Moguileva and Homel
  • M-9: Minsk ring road
  • M-10: Selishtche (Russian border) – Homel – Kobryn – Mokrany (Ukrainian border)
  • M-12/E-85: Kobryn – Mokrany (Ukrainian border)
  • P-1: Minsk – Dzerzhinsk
  • P-20: Witebsk – Polack – Grigorovschina (Ukrainian-Lithuanian)
  • P-131: Kalinkavičy – Mazyr (in the direction of motorway P31)
  • M-3: Minsk – Viciebsk, km 8,60 – km 40,363
  • M-4: Minsk – Mohylew, km 12,00 – km 63,883
  • M-5/E-271: Minsk – Homel, km 216,00 – km 303,280; access road to Żłobina
  • P-21: Viciebsk – Liozna (Russian border), km 0,00 – km 9,702 (up to the approach of motorway M8/E95)
  • P-23: Minsk – Mikasevičy, km 9,290 - km 80,638

Exceptions (among others): The transport of livestock, medicines and fuels; vehicles used in emergency.


Traffic ban: vehicles with the permissible axle weight exceeding 6t

Time: in summer months from the 20 May till the end of August on days when the outdoor temperature is above 25°C, between 11:00 and 21:00. These vehicles can use roads only between 21:00 and 11:00.

Routes: all roads.

Exceptions: Transporting passengers, livestock, flowers, humanitarian cargoes, concrete and bitumen/ concrete mixtures, dangerous goods, perishable goods, seeds stock, as well as loads intended for the elimination of emergencies.
