Traffic ban: carriage of loads for which labelling hazardous goods is obligatory

Winter tyres are obligatory from 1st December to 1st March (due to weather conditions, the assembly is possible from October to April)

Tires with spikes in vehicles of over 3.5t maximum permitted weight (MPW) are prohibited.

Dipped headlights: The use of the lights is obligatory for 24 hours, all year round.
Drivers entering Estonia in vehicles not belonging to them, must hold the owner’s letter of attorney, even if the vehicle is the possession of the transportation company, or the contract with a leasing company. Talking on the phone while driving is prohibited unless vehicles are equipped with a special hands-free set.
In case of breaching traffic regulations the police in Estonia apply a zero-tolerance policy for the culprits.
